Are educational kits ESA eligible in Arizona?

Yes. Educational kits are general education supplemental material under the SY2025-26 ESA Parent Handbook — allowable for all ESA students with no curriculum documentation currently required. A complete itemized receipt is still required.

Are STEM and science kits ESA eligible without documentation

Educational kits — STEM, science, robotics, experiment kits — are Tier 1 with no curriculum document. Because the kit arrives as a self-contained, clearly educational bundle, it carries its own contents and clears on the receipt.

The mistake families make

A "kit" that smuggles in a prohibited item. A bundle built around live animals beyond a life-cycle voucher, or one whose real value is loose chemicals outside a curriculum, doesn't get a free pass just for being sold as a kit. The kit format helps; the contents still have to be allowable.

Lean on the kit format precisely because it avoids paperwork that loose materials would trigger — a sealed science kit is cleaner than buying curriculum-required chemicals separately. Keep the itemized receipt and tag the kit to its subject.

The receipt still has to be complete

A yes on allowability doesn't survive an incomplete receipt. Every receipt needs the vendor's name, address, and contact; the date; a receipt or order number; an itemized description; and the itemized and total amounts. Missing any field can get the expense rejected — and undocumented debit-card purchases past the quarterly deadline must be repaid.
